2027 Benevolent Fund Concert

In the wonderfully welcoming environment of Christchurch Priory, our special fundraising concert features well known classical works, performed by the musicians of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra under the baton of BSO Benevolent Fund friend, Tom Fetherstonhaugh. This year will begin at the earlier time of 7pm.
The audience are in for a treat as BSO Principal Trumpet, Paul Bosworth presents a showcase performance of Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto in E Flat, a cornerstone of the classical trumpet repertoire, performed by our renowned and highly sought after Principal Trumpet, Paul.
BSO Strings open the concert with the magical soundscape of Ralph Vaughan Williams, Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis. Perfectly scored for the Priory’s acoustics, come hear this timeless work as it was meant to be performed. After interval refreshments, experience the rare feat of four harps performing together. BSO Principal Harp, Eluned Pierce will be joined by three BSO harp friends to bring this unique spectacle to life! To bring our concert to a close, you will be immersed in the beautiful music of Mozart’s Symphony No.39. With Conductor, Tom Fetherstonhaugh returning to conduct the mighty Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for this concert, and our very own world class soloist, it really is not to be missed!
